The Beast from the East may have been in town, but that didn’t stop our team from making it to QuickBooks Connect UK this year!
With special guests including Gary Neville, Gabby Logan and Jo Malone, as well as a whole host of our partners in attendance, we couldn’t miss it. Here’s what we took away from our two days at Quickbooks Connect London!
1. IT’S ALL ABOUT PARTNERSHIP
We do say this after every one, but it is still true that one of our favourite things about events is being able to meet and greet so many of our wonderful partners. Thank you to all those who came and not only said hello, but also shared their Receipt Bank success stories with us.
Glenn Redler, founder of GX Accountancy & Bookkeeping Services, commented, “It was this event last year that kickstarted me into offering Receipt Bank and Quickbooks Online in unison, and it has really helped me develop my practice over the last year.”
2. THE FUTURE IS ORANGE
This year, the UK Firm of the Future Award went to Business Works, an accounting firm based in Garforth, Leeds – and Receipt Bank partners! A huge congratulations to these inspiring women, who funnily enough are big fans of orange too.
Looking ahead, Managing Director Jo Tomlinson says, “After a 30 percent client base growth in 2017, we are continuing with the same marketing strategy, anticipating a similar growth in 2018. We will continue to work with our clients on the implementation of apps that will help them to be efficient, and we will move offices soon, as we have outgrown our current offices.”
We are proud to report that three out of the four Firm of the Future global finalists were Receipt Bank partners this year, including runner-up All That Counts and global winner AIS Solutions. It looks like the future is definitely orange!
3. THE KEY TO STRATEGY IS SOLID PROCESSES
Our good friend James Ashford of GoProposal held his own session with Alex Davis, Business Development Manager at Intuit, on The Three Underused Marketing Strategies that Impact Growth. James shares our philosophy that a practice is, crucially, a business, and you have to market that business in order to achieve growth.
In his session, he preached the importance of a marketing strategy, which in turn relies on solid, set procedures. Without processes in place, or with gaps in your processes, any strategy will quickly come tumbling down. We couldn’t agree more, but if a comprehensive marketing strategy sounds a little too scary right now, remember that a great place to kick off your marketing efforts is on social media.
